Echo Glen Stockings

Once again, IWC will be creating wonderful stockings for a cottage at Echo Glen to make the holiday little brighter for 15 girls and young women. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we quickly had all 14 items for the 15 stockings pledged. The stockings will be assembled and delivered by Kathy Drasbek. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING THE ITEMS YOU PLEDGED TO OUR DECEMBER HOLIDAY LUNCHEON.

Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank Holiday Gift Barn

The Issquah Food & Clothing Bank is again providing $25 gift cards to give parents the dignity of self-selecting the exact gifts that fit their children. IWC members donated $450 worth of $25 gift cards. These cards will brighten the Christmas of a number of children in our community.

In-Person Volunteer Opportunity at KidVantage (formerly called Eastside Baby Corner)

A crew of IWC members volunteered at KidVantage on Friday, November 18, and will volunteer again on Friday, December 16, and Friday, January 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The group usually enjoys lunch together after our shift.

Email Kathy Drasbek at knaparker@msn.com if you would like to volunteer in December or January.

Keep Issaquah Beautiful

Five of our IWC members participated in the cleanup effort led by the Downtown Issaquah Association on Saturday, November 12th. We picked up garbage and pulled weeds to make our downtown look beautiful as decorations are prepared and lights put up for the holiday season.

January/February Donations for Issaquah Food &Clothing Bank

The food donations toIssquah Food & Clothing Bank have decreased 45 percent since pre-pandemic times, while the number of people accessing their resources has increased by 50 percent and is rising every day. Families are struggling to afford not only food but also toiletries and cleaning supplies with the rise in prices. All of these needs are really stretching the food bank's resources. IWC will be collecting hygiene and household supplies to help stock these items at the food bank. If you would like to contribute any of the items listed below, please bring them to our January and February meetings. We will make deliveries to the food bank both months.

  • Diapers & pull-ups (all sizes)

  • Baby wipes
  • Incontinence pads (men's & women's, all sizes)
  • Shampoo
  • Bar soap
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant (men's & women's)
  • Laundry pods (please, no liquid detergent)
  • Feminine products (pads preferred over tampons)
  • Sanitizing wipes (for cleaning counters, etc.)
